class styles

Restorative Yoga:

Restorative Yoga classes are designed for deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Restorative Yoga aims to replenish and heal the nervous system from stored stressors and tension, through extended time and space to receive conscious rest and breath. Restorative Yoga classes are a great opportunity to slow down, relax and restore. This class is suitable for any experience level, a great compliment to balance active lifestyles, or ease stress and anxiety.

Restorative Yoga poses are all ground-based, held for extended time [10-15 minutes each], involve little to no movement, and paired with the appropriate props [blankets, blocks, bolsters and eye pillows] to assist you in feeling fully supported, grounded and relaxed.

Yin Yoga:

Yin Yoga is a passive, grounding, slow and quiet practice. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue and fascia network within the hips, spinal column and hamstrings [often a practice "below the naval"]. Yin Yoga differs from Restorative Yoga with the intention of receiving sensation, or physical feedback from the body, while holding the pose.

Yin Yoga poses are held between 3-5 minutes each and paired with the appropriate props [blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps and eye pillows] to assist you in feeling fully supported within the pose, allowing the muscular system to relax and disengage

Gentle Vinyasa:

Farmhouse's Gentle Vinyasa classes are designed to experience our vinyasa-styled practices slower. Class is built with the intention to connect with our breath and body through slow and gentle movements and opportunities of rest in between. These classes can incorporate supine, prone, seated, and/or standing postures.
